A&E
is a charter member of ATMI's Quest of the Best in Safety & Health
Programs. |
|
|
How We Accomplish This
To accomplish this, we must constantly be aware of the conditions in all
work areas that have a high risk potential. No associate is required to
work at a job that is unsafe or unhealthy.

Safety
Policy
As a condition of employment, A&E associates are responsible for
compliance with all safety and health rules, regulations, and for
continually practicing safety while performing their duties.
Associates are to inform the appropriate personnel immediately of any
situation beyond their ability or authority to correct or control.
Management will provide all necessary safeguards required for personal
safety and health.
A&E's long term
operating productivity and financial condition go hand in hand with the
prevention of occupationally induced injuries and illnesses. Our objective
is a safety and health program that will reduce the number of injuries and
illnesses to zero. A&E management will integrate safety and health
activities that foster development of responsible attitudes and actions
and ensure that all operations are managed in that regard.
Our management
will make certain that:
- We comply with all
applicable safety and health laws and regulations.
- We provide
reasonable safeguards to ensure safe working conditions.
- We provide neat,
clean, safe, attractive, and healthy working conditions.
- We maintain in good
repair all equipment, tools, and machines.
- We study, develop,
and train associates in safe work methods.
A&E accepts its'
responsibility for leadership in our safety and health programs for its'
effectiveness, improvement, and for providing the safeguards required to
ensure safe and healthy conditions.
In addition to
complying with the local safety and health laws and regulations, our
international facilities will be required to comply with all programs and
procedures in
A&E's
Safety and Health Manual. In order to achieve excellence in
safety and health, each U.S. and international facility will be required
to meet the following eight objectives:
- Adopt and maintain
a safety and health policy.
- Organize and assign
safety and health responsibilities.
- Conduct safety and
health audits.
- Encourage employee
participation and communication.
- Meet performance
objectives.
- Provide safety and
health education and training.
- Maintain a safe and
healthy work environment.
- Share information
and be involved with outside organizations and community and
government agencies.
