AAFA – RSL (Restricted Substances List)
A&E is a member of the American Apparel & Footwear Association and was instrumental in the establishment of the Restricted Substance List (RSL) which seeks to ensure that restricted substances do not become associated with a company’s products.
The STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is the global benchmark for textile products that are tested for hazardous chemicals. Developed in 1992, the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® tests and verifies that certified products are free from harmful levels of more than 300 concerning substances. Globally, there are more than 10,000 manufacturers, brands, and retailers in almost 100 countries who work with OEKO-TEX® to ensure their products are tested. Millions of labels can be found all over the world and consumers everywhere look for OEKO-TEX® labels on the products they purchase. C-TPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism)
A&E was early in receiving United States Customs and Border Protection’s C-TPAT certification and is proud of its continued participation in this trade initiative and its purpose securing the international supply chain against terrorism. C-TPAT is the CBP initiative that partners, on voluntary basis, with members of the trade community. CBP and willing members of the trade community collaborate to better secure the international supply chain to the United States in support of CBP’s priority Homeland Security mission. C-TPAT is one of the CBP’s initiatives that helps the agency achieve its twin goals: security and facilitation of trade moving into the United States.
As a direct result of these efforts, A&E is a proud recipient of numerous global social responsibility and EHS awards.
