Restricted Substance List

A&E is a member of the American Apparel & Footwear Association. We were instrumental in the establishment of the Restricted Substance List (RSL) which seeks to ensure that restricted substances do not become associated with a company’s products. All of A&E’s thread products observe the RSL.

Oeko-Tex® Standard 100

The STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is the global benchmark for textile products tested for hazardous chemicals. Developed in 1992, the STANDARD 100 tests and verifies certified products are free from harmful levels of more than 300 concerning substances. Inquire with your A&E representative on product with this certification.

Global Recycled Standard

The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) is a voluntary product standard for tracking and verifying the content of recycled materials in a final product. The standard applies to the full supply chain and addresses traceability, environmental principles, social requirements, chemical content and labeling. GRS covers processing, manufacturing, packaging, labeling, trading and distribution of all products made with a minimum of 20% recycled material. A&E’s ECO100, 100% recycled thread products, are ethically produced in GRS SCOPE CERTIFIED facilities.
