Sustainability
Sustainability is defined as “meeting needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs.” Sustainability seeks to balance the economic, social responsibility, and environmental impact — recognizing that population growth will continue.
A&E’s long-standing commitment to Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS), sustainability, and Social Responsibility continues to be a top priority at all A&E’s operations worldwide. It has been widely recognized that enhancing environmental sustainability in operations and in the supply chain is simply the right thing to do, and it is essential to meeting expectations of both customers and stakeholders.

Sustainability is intricately woven into the cultural fabric of American & Efird. Just as thread is constructed of strong, durable, quality materials, A&E’s EcoDriven program is spun of 10 Threads of Sustainability. These Threads sustain the earth through a multi-faceted and responsible approach to environmental stewardship.
American & Efird’s long-time commitment to sustainability includes meticulous and ongoing monitoring, measurement, analysis, and improvement of the Eco-Driven platform. In keeping with its Global Standards, A&E provides transparent reporting of these sustainability efforts. Examples of progress are highlighted in this Sustainability Update.
