USTR and NCTO Visit A&E U.S. Manufacturing Operation
Mount Holly, NC (June 11, 2024) – American & Efird (A&E) hosted the newly named U.S. Trade Representative’s (USTR) Chief Textiles and Apparel Negotiator Katherine White for a tour of our dyehouse in Mt. Holly, NC. This visit included a discussion on the impact of current trade policies on A&E, our domestic production, our people, and our local communities. Joined by Kim Glas, President and CEO of the National Council of Textile Organizations (NCTO), White met with A&E representatives that included President Chris Alt, Managing Director-Threads Americas, Mark Hatton, Senior Vice President of A&E Operations, Chris Plemmons and Americas leadership and team members. We look forward to working closely with U.S. Representative White and continued interaction with Ambassador Katherine Tai to advance policies that bolster our regional production.
“We want to thank Katherine and Kim for taking time to visit A&E,” said A&E President Chris Alt. “We had a good first discussion on trade policies and were pleased to provide Representative White with a plant tour of our Mount Holly dyehouse facility.”
