AAFA – RSL (Restricted Substances List)
A&E is a member of the American Apparel & Footwear Association and was instrumental in the establishment of the Restricted Substance List (RSL) which seeks to ensure that restricted substances do not become associated with a company’s products.
Confidence in textiles – this has been the motto of the independent test institutes of the International Oeko-Tex® Association since 1992. A&E has received multiple Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 certifications for our most common thread products from many of our global manufacturing facilities. The Oeko-Tex program is a voluntary product testing program for the certification of restricted chemical levels present in our thread products.
C-TPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism)
A&E was early in receiving United States Customs and Border Protection’s C-TPAT certification and is proud of its continued participation in this trade initiative and its purpose securing the international supply chain against terrorism . C-TPAT is the CBP initiative that partners, on voluntary basis, with members of the trade community. CBP and willing members of the trade community collaborate to better secure the international supply chain to the Unites States in support of CBP’s priority Homeland Security mission. C-TPAT is one of the CBP’s initiatives that helps the agency achieve its twin goals: security and facilitation of trade moving into the United States.
As a direct result of these efforts, A&E is a proud recipient of numerous global social responsibility and EHS awards as well as business ethics award.
