A&E Congratulates joint venture partner Vardhman Group’s Chairman, SP Oswal on the receipt of India’s prestigious Padma Bhushan distinguished service award.
Mt. Holly, N.C., May 17, 2010- American & Efird congratulates Mr. S.P. Oswal, Chairman of the Vardhman Group, on the receipt of India’s prestigious Padma Bhushan award for distinguished service of High Order in the field of Trade and Industry to the Country of India. The Padma Bhushan, one of India’s highest Civilian Decorations, was conferred to Mr. S.P. Oswal by The Honorable President of India, Pratibha Patil on March 31, 2010. Mr. S.P. Oswal has made significant industrial and social contributions during his career including the Village Cluster Adoption Program, a successful project focused on improving cotton farmer’s yields, the establishment of the Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce & Management and the establishment of the Sri Aurobindo Public School, located in Baddi, India.
American & Efird and Vardhman Textiles have a prominent joint venture in India, named Vardhman Yarns and Threads Limited, which is engaged in the manufacturing, distribution and sales of sewing thread. Formed in 2008, after a long licensing arrangement with American & Efird, Vardhman Yarns and Threads currently operates manufacturing and distribution facilities in northern and southern India ensuring that it is uniquely positioned to serve both India and the greater-region’s thread requirements.
