A&E recently introduced 3 new and innovative thread products.
(1) REPEL is a new, PFC-Free, special water repellent treatment that A&E is able to apply to our apparel and non-apparel sewing thread, and specialty yarn products. This treatment gives manufacturers of backpacks, footwear, athletic wear, uniforms, workwear and other outdoor accessories enhanced water repellency. REPEL is an additional feature customers can order and have applied to A&E’s global sewing thread brands.
REPEL does not affect color and will carry A&E’s PFCZERO™ designation as it contains no perfluorocarbons (PFC-free). Perfluorocarbons are considered greenhouse gases which have been linked to global warming. It has been 3rd party tested on seam and meets rain test method: ISO 22958-2005 (OR AATCC 61).

(2) Anefil Poly® using REPREVE® is A&E’s newest in the line of sustainable sewing threads manufactured with Unifi’s REPREVE fiber. Positioned for use in a number of market segments including footwear, automotive, and outdoor products, this new, Anefil Poly® using REPREVE® fills the need for a sustainable, continuous filament sewing thread in these markets and provides manufacturers, brands, and retailers the ability to complete their respective non-apparel sustainability stories through the manufacturing of environmentally, responsible products.
Anefil Poly® using REPREVE® can be dyed in A&E’s polyester color range and is available in both, soft and bonded.
What is REPREVE? Unifi, Inc., the makers of REPREVE, turns plastic bottles into 100% recycled polyester fiber, which is then made into products sold by leading consumer brands and retailers. REPREVE has shown dramatic growth and popularity with major brands and retailers since its inception. (3) Anefil™ Reflector ― A&E is introducing a new, Tex 60 size addition to compliment the Tex 120 size offered for this reflective sewing thread. This new size of Anefil™ Reflector allows it to be sewn through the eye of a needle, ideal for embroidery applications.
